General Information

This is an 8mm thick wing servo outputting 115oz-in and while it’s been created expressly for gliders, the facts are jets are also using these (often in the vertical fin). Of course, the servo doesn’t know (or care) in what it’s installed. Like Cinderella and the glass slipper, this 21g sweetheart will slip into a lot of places ordinary 10mm wing-servos simply won’t fit, all whilst outputting loads of power . . . win-win!

– This jewel of an alloy case servo has been reinforced with bronze inserts for longer life

Specifications

Product Details

The DS115CLHV is designed to provide superior performance in a thin wing-servo profile

Do details matter?

In part, it’s down to the details, which makes ProModeler servos so appealing versus servos produced by competitors. It’s said God is in the details and one thing is certain, unlike hobby-grade servos, this one is built to meet military standards (and subjected to these tests).

MIL-STD-810G-Part 16

  • Shock – Test Method 516.6
  • Vibration – Test Method 514.6

Why bother when nobody else does? It’s due to the requirements of our primary customer. However, because we’re modelers and have knocked a servo off a workbench, experienced crashes, and know a thing or two about engine vibration (plus how a summer afternoon pop-up rain shower may drench a model before landing), it means these tests are important for civilian users as well. It’s why we built the DS115CLHV to meet them as well despite not having a military application at this time.

– Sourced from a Rolex stem supplier, note the tiny o-ring beneath the bolt head

So you’ve now got a pretty good idea of how it’s built.

Installation

Installation is typical for this servo. Mount securely using the included mounting hardware.
